National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to students to take part in various community service activities & programmes. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service and nurture them to develop into responsible citizens. Marian NSS has rendered a host of community based services which involves sanitation drives, adoption of villages, tuition for school children, blood donation, service to inmates of hospices etc. Our volunteers rendered commendable relief work during the floods of 2018 and 2019. In February 2020, they successfully organized a National Integration Camp which had a pan Indian participation of NSS volunteers.

The new volunteers are selected from the first-year U.G students through a selection process. The notifications are shared with students and interested candidates can apply through Programme Officers. Personal interviews will be conducted with each applicant. 100 volunteers will be selected each year.
