    • Admission to the BSW program will be as per the rules and regulations of the College. The eligibility criteria for admission will be as announced by the College from time to time and published in the prospectus/website of the College.
    • Candidates for admission to the BSW program (FYUGP) shall be required to have passed Higher Secondary/ Plus Two examination of Kerala or an examination recognized by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam as equivalent thereto.
    • Separate rank lists will be drawn up for reserved seats as per the existing rules of reservation by the State and published in the website of the College.
    • Selection of the students is made on the basis of merit list prepared. The merit mark will be the total Marks + 50 marks for those students who have studied Sociology, Social Work or Gandhian Studies as a credit course for their qualifying examination.

  1. The admission to the MSW programme shall be as per the rules and regulations of the College.
  2. The eligibility criteria for admission shall be as announced by the College from time to time and published in the prospectus/website of the College.
  3. Candidates seeking admission to the MSW programme through CSS shall be required to have a minimum of 50% mark or equivalent grade in any undergraduate programme of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam or of any recognized University or authority accepted by the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam as equivalent thereto. There will be a 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST candidates.
  4. For the purpose of preparation of the final rank list, the total marks shall be calculated out of 150. The Breakup of marks shall be:
  •   Written Test – 50;
  • Group Discussion – 50;
  • Personal Interview – 50.

The written test shall cover the following areas:

  • Logical reasoning
  • Simple Mathematics and descriptive statistics
  • Vocabulary and language proficiency in English
  • Aptitude tests
  • Comprehension
  1. In extraordinary situations where the physical presence of the candidates cannot be had the admission procedures can be modified/customised and conducted online to overcome the challenge raised by the situation and to meet the requirements.
  2. Separate rank lists shall be drawn up for reserved seats as per the existing rules of reservation by the state and published.
  3. The College shall make available a list of all programmes offered by the college in the prospectus/website

Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% mark/equivalent grade. There will be a 5% relaxation in the marks for SC/ST candidates. PhD Research Centre

School of Social Work, Marian College Kuttikkanam Autonomous

The School of Social Work at Marian College Kuttikkanam Autonomous was recognized as a Research Centre by Mahatma Gandhi University on 21 March 2009 (U.O. No. 1285/Ac. AVI/2009/Acad), marking a significant milestone in its academic journey. Since its establishment, the Centre has played a pivotal role in advancing research in Social Work and allied disciplines, fostering a culture of scholarly inquiry and intellectual growth. Over the years, it has successfully guided and produced five Ph.D. scholars contributing valuable insights and knowledge to the field. Upholding its dedication to academic excellence and rigorous research, the Research Centre successfully renewed its recognition on 16 April 2024 (U.O. No. 3387/AC A6/2024/M.G.U). This renewal reaffirms its commitment to fostering high-quality research and academic engagement, further strengthening its position as a hub for scholarly pursuits in Social Work and related disciplines.
