MA in Hospitality and Tourism Management (MHTM), is a four-semester programme with its curriculum bringing together core management areas and key skills decided in consultation with industry and academia experts. The highlight of the programme is industry internships every semester, adding up to a total of 5 months by the end of the programme. Industry engagement is woven into the curriculum helping learners to come face-to-face with successful entrepreneurs, top executives, and seasoned alumni. In addition, the MMH programme allows flexible specialization opportunities in different service sector avenues.

The MHTM programme envisages a student-centered learning and teaching approach, where the central focus is on learning. Instead of merely transferring knowledge, a teaching process that facilitates learning in an experiential way is emphasized. Self-directed and continuous learning skills are also stressed. It is expected that the students be empowered to use their autonomy as learners to gain and practice specific knowledge and skills. Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission to the MHTM programme through the Credit and Semester System shall be required to have a minimum pass mark or equivalent grade in any undergraduate programme of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, or of any recognized University or authority accepted by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam as equivalent thereto.
Procedure: Selection of the students is made on the basis of the merit list prepared and published. The merit marks will be the cumulative score of any one of the national-level Management entrance examinations (like MAT, CAT, CMAT, or similar national level examination), Group Discussion, and Personal Interview. The total marks shall be calculated out of 150. The breakup of marks shall be :
50% marks or equivalent grade in any degree approved by UGC
