Dr. Ajimon George

The Department of Commerce started its voyage on 11 August 1995 with one teacher and 52 students. At present, the department offers B Com, M Com, and Ph.D. and has about 570 students. Consistent with the Marian vision, the Department of Commerce is pursuing excellence in education by providing a strong foundation in theory and practice to make each student well fit for employment and higher studies. The syllabus of the B Com programme is internationally accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as equivalent to their B Com Business Process Services. The classroom sessions and additional training imparted by industry/accounting professionals help the students to acquire the much-needed knowledge and practical skills expected from a commerce graduate.

Marian Ph. D in Commerce is a doctorate programme with a duration of a minimum of 3 years. Doctoral candidates are expected to complete coursework within a period of one year. They are expected to publish a minimum of 3 research papers in Web of Science/Scopus/UGC CARE listed journals in order to qualify for the submission of the final thesis.

Currently, the Research and Post Graduate Department of Commerce has 18-aided seats.
