Admission to B.Com Degree Programme shall be open only to candidates who have passed the Plus Two of the Higher Secondary Board or that of any other University or Board of Examinations in any State recognized as equivalent to the Plus Two of the Higher Secondary Board in Kerala, with Book Keeping and Accountancy and any two of the following subjects, (1) Commerce (2) Commercial Correspondence and Commercial Geography (3) Economics (4) Life Insurance with Salesmanship (5) Banking with Secretarial Practice (6) Business Studies (7) Maths (8) Computer Science (9) Computer Application (10) Informatics Practice and (11) Management.
Alternatively, candidates can have passed Plus Two or an equivalent examination recognized by this University with other subjects under Part III optional, provided they have secured 45% of the aggregate marks or an examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto subject to the restrictions regarding marks as mentioned above. However, candidates belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes need to have only a pass in the qualifying examination.
Selection of the students shall be made on the basis of the merit list prepared. The merit marks will be computed as per the rules and regulations of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam in force, in this regard, except in the case weightage of 50 marks to specified subjects/courses at the plus 2 levels. The weightage is reduced to 10 marks for subjects specified as per the Academic Council decision dated 6th August 2021.
