               Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary (PNP) is a protected area located in the districts of Idukki and Pathanamthitta in Kerala, India. It is notable as an elephant reserve and a tiger reserve. The protected area encompasses 925 km2 (357 sq mi), of which 305 km2 (118 sq mi) of the core zone was declared as the Periyar National Park in 1982. The park is a repository of rare, endemic, and endangered flora and fauna and forms the major watershed of two important rivers of Kerala: the Periyar and the Pamba.
              Nature camps are aimed to introduce the students especially from the urban region, to nature, its elements and the inter-relationships, and creating awareness and understanding of nature and empathy in students for the environment. Total number of days of nature camp was 3.
Day-1
 The inauguration ceremony for the Students was commenced by 5.50pm at kalari, the  Bamboo grove centre near to the Periyar’s Tiger Interpretation centre. The inauguration was there done by xavier Sir, Range forest officer and Monacans sir Beat forest officer Xavier sir. After that students got to know the locality.
Day-2
*Trekking
The students were excited to go for trekking. Trekking commenced on 8.40am after breakfast It was through dense forest in the buffer zone while trekking, forest officers were explaining about trees, it’s family. Animals and so on. He also talked about name the tribals in the periyar. Periyar has two divisions- east division and west division. In east division & mannan, paliyan.
