The Department of Communication and Media Studies,one of the youngest departments in the college,has notched up a remarkable position in exemplifying the proactive role of a journalist in the contemporary age.The vibrancy evident in molding a journalistic career through a judicious combination of conceptual basis and practical sessions,wherein the hands-on experience is given prime importance.Outlook magazine has ranked the department among the top Private Mass Communication Colleges in India.

Admission

The aspirants to the MCMS programme is required to possess any Bachelor degree from Mahatma Gandhi University or its equivalent approved by the same university with an aggregate of 50% marks (or CGPA of 2). The SC/ST candidates among the aspirants need only a pass in the qualifying examination. The SEBC and OEC candidates shall be awarded a relaxation of 3% and 5 %, respectively in the prescribed minimum marks.

The department has a tradition of academic excellence proven through merits in competitive examinations and high placements. The students have presented a 30 minutes programme on Idukki from All India Radio, Devikulam. Students have participated in the open forum of the 26th IFFK.
