Peermade, a small beatiful plantation town located 80 kms away from Kottayam is blessed by the fragance of cardamon and spices, and beatiful green mountains crowned with mist. The place is known as Kerala's own Ooty. It stands at an atitude of more than 1000 meters above the sea level.

Kuttikkanam is a small town on the Kottayam-Kumily road in Peermade Panchayath. Tpurist spots like the Thrisanku Hills, Panchalimedu, offer spectacular sights of huge mountains, waterfalls, lakes and much more. The more famous tourist destinations like Thekkady and Vagamon are very near to Kuttikanam. Formerly the summer residence of Travancore Rajas, this tiny and cool hll station is dominated by rubber, tea, coffee, pepper and cardamom plantations, interspersed with waterfalls and open grass lands.
